Good point Nightcall, but I think anything is possible. It would be easier if we could harness the power of magnets. Remember 6th grade Science with the same poles repelling? Some how make a "magnetic road" and make cars have magnets.

Given events of about 5 or so years ago I seriously dought flying cars will be likely...unless you count someone jumping a car off a ramp or barrelling down the road and there is a sudden downward incline.
More than likely given the continued demands of multitasking behind the wheel, increased traffic accident deaths, high insurance rates, and economic instability I would almost expect a change to "autonomous" or A.I. cars. It is only a matter of time before the technology is perfected.

They have a design flaw. Since they hover they have nothing in contact to stop with. The best way to stop a hover car fast is to turn around and gun it in full speed pointed backwards.
