Do you think a spouse would take her illness to the extreme to get her hubby to get her attention weither she is sick or not?Although she has health problems do you think she is trying to make her point across as in keeping hubby around close just so she can keep a close eye out?Is she using her illness to just make sure she has still got him?

NO i am not the lover just a cousin of him and he was asking what he could do? I was helpless in this situation. Any feed back would be helpful.

WOW...(not to sound mean)
It would be sad if she was taking her illness as a way to be selfish, for her husband's attention. (I'd want my husband there if I felt bad...) Nevertheless, if the relationship was strong or weak there wouldn't be anyone, or anything to step in between it.

Well, if they have marital problems and he has threatened divorce or he wants to leave her, she will use anything she can to keep him around including fabricating illness or using the kids, if they have any.
If you are this man's friend, be supportive and sympathetic, it's up to him how he deals with her, that is his wife, after all.
If u r his lover. or would be lover, beware of a long tiring ride.
Good luck

Do you expect us to know this person? People are very unpredictable, they are capable of anything. Most of the time when you try to discover other people's motives you end up being embarassingly wrong. Don't project and all will be well. Take things at face value and try not to judge.

To what illness do you refer? Has it been verified by a doctor? What an odd question. Is there another woman? Does she have reason to be suspicious? Is the illness terminal?

That doesn't sound like tough love, but more a cry out for attention. If she does that, it's most likely because of the reaction she gets from him, when she does it.

Could be, but she could also really need the support of her husband. It depends on the status of their relationship prior to the illness.

Sounds to me like you got your claws in a married man who's telling you he can't leave his wife because she it "soo sick and it would kill her". Open your eyes. If you're in that boat, honey, it's sinking.

If a doctor has verified her illness, she is not using it as leverage.
