It wasn't meant to be. People come in and out of your life for a reason. Think back on your relationship, and what you have learned from it and carry it with you, to your next relationship.

Were you still engaged when you took the promotion? If so I would have discussed it with her before taking the promotion.....then after deciding that I would have taken the appropriate step. If you broke up over the job then yes I would say it was a mistake. You should never lose someone you really care about over a job! Have you talked to her since this?

It seems that there may have been problems in the first place if she did not move with you to the new job.
Women have waited longer for the men they love, so take this as a sign that you were not meant to be together. Put her in your past and look forward to a new life.
Get out and meet new people. Join interest groups, take lessons in a new field, get involved with community groups. You will meet new people and get to know your new state better. You could also meet someone who is much better suited to be your life partner.
Just don't rush in to a new relationship without thinking things through all the way. You are not out to replace a fiancee, you are looking for that one woman who will be your life partner.

Darlin you need to find you a new someone to share life with.
Yahoo personals, plentyoffish.com, match.com and the local match services and get out and have a good time while you look!
There are few mistakes,, just choices you make and if your not happy with the choice,, then pick up and move on.

True love is lasting and enduring. It can weather alot more than distance. You need to find someone who is willing to tough it out during the hard times, not just give up.

you are the only one that can say if you made a mistake or not...if you feel like it was a mistake then you should try to fix it. some times the grass isnt greener on the other side...maybe you should contact her and see how she feels...with any luck shes missing you too!!!

If she wanted to be with you, she would have followed you south.
Also, you could have stayed, but did not. Maybe you should talk to her to see how she feels, may be in the same spot as you.

She must not have been the right one for you. Find someone who is, and be happy!
