The most straightforward way to do this is the use the Windows Wordpad program.

Type your text into Wordpad. When you're done, use the File menu, Print command.

If you've got a printer attached to your computer, and you've configured it correctly, the text will print.

Microsoft Word is the best program for typing letters. Once you type the intro, such as Dear Someone, it asks you if you would like to use a wizard to set up your letter. Some computers come with Word pre-installed, and some come with a 60-day trial. If you don't have Word, Microsoft Works is similar. To print, you can either click on the print button that looks like a printer, similar to the one in Internet Explorer, or click on print in the File menu.

You have me confused. First you wrote "how do I write letters on my pc to be printer", and I knew exactly what to reply to this, then when I clicked on your question you also say, "I want to print out what I type". Now, if you know how to type while on your pc, is your question really about how to print something or is it really about what program to use to type a letter? See, confusing!! lol

First, just in case you dont' know, you use a word processing program to type letters, papers, etc. Most people have a program called Microsoft Office Word, some just have a small word processor program like Word Pad which comes with Windows XP and you will find it on the Accessories menu on the All Programs on the Start Menu.

Start-All Programs-Accessories-Word Pad. Not notepad, wordpad ok?

If you have Microsoft Office Word installed go to Start-All Programs-Microsoft Office-Microsoft Word.

If you have a different word processor, just look on your All Programs menu for anything which looks like a word processor. Most versions of XP or 2000, or me or 98 come with some version of a word processor.

Now, if you find you do not have a word processor or want one which is more full featured you can get a great free office suite here:
http://www.openoffice.org

Open Office is a freeware program created in defiance of Microsoft by those who are fed up with Microsoft's domination of the World, and it also contains a free spreadsheet program and a few other programs, and they are all compatable with the Microsoft Office formatts, you just have to make sure you check the proper formatt when you save the document.

Now, if you are asking HOW to use one of these word processor programs you are going to have to just wing it and learn on your own. If you do have one of the Microsoft Word Applications, there is a link within the application to the Online Office Help which has all sorts of free turtorials and instructions to get you started. You can also buy books at your local bookstore or go look for them at the local library.

If you are asking how to print then click on the File menu, then click Print. A dialog box will appear which will offer you choices in configuring a print job. If you want to print only a section, first highlight the section you want to print then select the radial button for "selection" on the print dialog box and then click Print. If you wish to print only a few pages, select the radial button for pages, put in the range of pages you wish to print like 2-7 or 4-10 and then click Print.

Good luck and much fun typing your letters and printing them, and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
