checking account and took money and made a fake driver's license with my info and her picture. She also had business cards printed. That's just what the cops found, but I am afraid she may have done more. What, if anything, should I be ready for?

A lot of money that she spent from your savings and she probably owes money to places too if she took out any loans or something.
That's just from what you know so far. When the cops investigate more, I'm sure they'll let you know.

Be ready for anything, I guess. There's no telling what this lady has done.

check your credit report and see if any accounts have been opened in your name and if any loans have been taken out in your name---that is the big stuff that you have to watch out for, and also change your banks and stuff and get a private investigator and CALL THE POLICE!! Personally, i do not think that the penalties in the United States are harsh enough for identity thieves! Just my 2 cents!

call your bank and get all of your credit cards canceled. [you can un-cancel them when all of this gets sorted out] and also to prevent this in the future buy a paper shredder and shred all of those credit card things that you get in the mail. Also any things you would classify as 'junk mail' or things that have account numbers and social security numbers and other personal things. I would watch out for money getting whipped out and taken out of your account. Talk to your bank and ask them what to do in situations like this. Have you ever seen those commercials..? They are funny, but they also tell you what to do in situations like this. Much luck and I hope everything turns out okay!

I was reading about identity theft, it would have to be someone you know that would've been in your house.
