Yes, from some epsiodes.
Certain music (like subterrenean homesick blues) couldn't be licenced for dvd release so the sections were cut.

My friend recorded every episode from the BBC when they were originally broadcast in the 80's. When he sees them repeated on TV now he says that there are bits missing, like racist comments or explicit violence, albeit comical. But that's just put down to overzealous editors of the particular channel they are put on. He doesn't have the DVD collection but I think that most things are left as original as possible for the DVD market. If they are PG or 15 then I think that they are all intact, though I could be wrong because I've not seen them all on DVD. If you want I can research this further and get back to you or you can contact me.

Not that I know of. I have the DVD set and everything's all there as far as I know. I watched all of the episodes on TV and on DVD, and nothing was different. The DVD set does have some extras too.

i hate the bloody young ones. i can remember being 12 at school at the time, everyone thought it was hillarious and started acting like vivian. it does have funny bits in it but even now i still [as then] i find all the characters hateful and very childish. the only good thing about the show was motorhead and that they went on to do bottom.

One of my fave episodes is the one where Alexi Sayle is singing about Doctor Marten boots.. 'Whoo alright'

Coincidentally, I am watching Bottom now!!
