They were trying to buy your votes in October. It didn't work so up the prices went.

Actually, oil prices were riding a bubble through most of summer, as speculators were anticipating a major disruption to oil supplies much like Katrina devastated oil production last year. That never materialized, and as soon as those speculators realized it would never materialize they started selling their oil off and causing a price decrease somewhere around September and October. (Hence the stories about an "oil conspiracy" to get Republicans reelected.) That excess supply was consumed by November, which is why prices rose slightly.

They only put down the prices for a while before the election so that the economy would look as though it was getting better with the republicans in office. It was supposed to raise support for republicans and make it look as though they were doing a better job than in reality.

And what planet have you been on??
The reason that the networks find this a non-story is because it is obvious, but they have no concrete evidence to prove it. And they don't want to piss off the oil companies because they are advertising $$, and without the $$, there is no news - no matter what network you're on. If you just have "speculation", then you will be screwed like a pooch. Now, if they had proof, then that would be a story. . .

Does anybody out there know about Methanol ?!?!?!!!
When we start using it instead of gasoline, we can say goodbye to Venzuela and Saudi Arabia. Honda and Toyota and Chevy researched it, and it will be the thing to come!
Do a search on Methanol.
For starters, click on this, and especially notice paragraphs 2 and 3.

Right on, my friend! The oil companies are the worst gougers in history and they take every advantage they can when they can.
The profit they are making is deplorable and they should be investigated by the IRS. But no. Only the little guys are audited.
Bush and his boys are pro oil companies and he lets them get away with too much.
