I am 7 weeks & 6 days pregnant and I just went the doctor this past Wednesday. I was explaining to her how I have to puke when I drink water. She told me to stop drinking it. She said it is more important to drink anything you can keep down to stay hydrated than to drink something that is always going to make you sick.

I've never heard of that. Water is one of the things I can drink all the time without getting sick. I think you should call your Dr and speak with them about it. You could ask them if flavored water would be ok... and if you can keep that down. When my friend was pregnant last year she couldn't eat any kind of warm food (soup, anything made hot and fresh) and her Dr said sometimes your body just doesn't like certain things while your pregnant.

You should go see the doctor. At 16 weeks, you should be past your morning sickness already... or at least beyond the worst part of it. Besides that, you need to be drinking water during this time. Blessings and good luck!

maybe it's because your pregnant, if it's tap water it may have chlorine and makes you puke because when your pregnant your senses are more sensative maybe thats why. Try drinking mineral water or spring water. If not than mix something with it like cranberry juice or crystal light. i know someone than has the same effect with cologne and she's pregnant too. Thats what her doctor told her that her senses are sensative and things such as taste, smells can cause headaches or orther side effects.

Yes, it is normal. You should drink small sips of water, very cold (mostly ice), and don't drink water 1/2 hour before or after meals. See if that helps. Also, try to eat foods with high water content such as apples, watermelon, cruciferous vegetables, etc. - whatever sounds good.

Drink gatorade so you stay hydrated and slowly try to drink water. Very small amounts though. Good Luck.

have you tried putting lemon in your water... i know i used to not be able to drink plain drinking water.. i would put lemon or lime in it.. or buy those fruit waters... but water is essential.. ask your doc about that... you don't want to get dehydrated
