Whenever I open Windows Explorer, I see thumbnail folders. Then I have to right click to change to the detailed view. Also, I have to adjust the drop down box to show all files instead of just programs.

How to I *permanently* adjust my defaults to have the detailed view and all files...all the time?

10 points will go to the person who can solve my problem.

Thanks!

Open window explorer like usual, make changes to your liking, Click on My computer on left pane, Select Tools, Folder options, View, Click Apply to All Folders. While you're in the view tab, scroll down the list on the Advanced settings and put a checkmark in a box that say "Remember each folder view setting".

ok, so what you need to do is open up My Computer, change the view to they way you want it. ex: view, thumbnail, etc. Then click on Tools --> Folder Options, then go to the View tab. Then click the Apply to all Folders button. Note: you have to exit out of it, and then re-open it just like the message box says when you click the Apply to all Folders button.

Open your folder and get it looking like the way you prefer it (info). then pass to kit>folder recommendations. pass to the View tab and decide stick to to All Folders (this makes all folders you open seem such as you prefer it (info)). Then click ok and close the folder. Reopen it to substantiate it seems acceptable then once you drill down it is going to open with the default view being info
