My partner just passed away in September. He had been applying for SSD for severl years, and fianlly got approved. They sent his first check 3 days AFTER he died. Then I recieved a letter saying they were going to grant him back payment, back to year 2000. That's 6 1/2 years he did with out. I AM SO PISSED!!!!! I called the SS they told me that his Mother couldsend in this particular form to request back payment to go to his estate. When she called, they told her that is not the case. I'm left out in the cold as usual, litterally.
Any suggestions???????
They'd be greatly appreciated.
Rick

I would assume that your partner's estate could sue, as that money would have been part of the estste.

There are lawyers that specialize is SSD.

Good luck.
