I think it's funny. Sad, but funny.
I like your hat, too.

I was 16 and it was like um. November . It was a foggy night and my friend and I were in the bus. The bus hit a car and everybody got out and I was injured. Nobody cared to check if I was ok except Nicholas. He got me to the hospital. But someone I knew had to be there and he had no clue where I came from, so he lied and payed the check. When I woke up a few days later I was okay to get out and as I saw him approach lol I kinda liked him and now hes my bf. But the bad news was, he got hit by a car and died. ;( So now my kids don't have a dad. (Also I'm 17 now.) ;( I can't stop thinking of him. I wish he didn't die. ;(

sounds like your dad was a very "out of touch" guy. Not too much in the ways of romance but more than likely a practical thinker.
Its not the first time I have heard of this.It is a terrible thing but hey, It takes all kinds to make a world.Everyone cant be a natural romantic cause if everyone was, it certainly wouldn't be such a special thing.
I am sure your dad has plenty of great attributes,Probably just not very many when it comes to feelings of the heart.

Divorced people don't usually tell the happy stories. They thrive on the icky ones. And she's giving you some life lessons about the reality of relationships. It's not all romance, flowers and lovey-dovey.

You must be kidding right?

I wish I would have been in that scene where your mom opened that gift! ;) and later dumped him!
Its ridiculous, what your moms ex was implying out of such a gift was than your mom should do more and more cleaning and household chores and serve him!! Indeed he never really cared for your mom to give her a gift that she likes!!

i think it is a typical male thing to do.

plenty of women have received ridiculous gifts such as these.!!

washing machines
ironing boards and so and so forth.

its the most meaningless present a male can buy a woman and it makes me wonder how many men are still living in the 1950s!!
