I believe that we, perhaps, indirectly caused 9/11 by funding the Taliban to fight the Soviets, by not trying to work with and understand the Middle East better, and by ignoring direct threats from Osama Bin Laden (although Bill Clinton told Bush that Bin Laden should be his one of his top priorities when he took over the presidency) and by being oil hungry.
However, I, in no way, believe that we conspired to blow up the WTC ourselves.
I just fired my babysitter (an Israeli) for telling me repeatedly (though I warned her that that sort of conspiracy theory wasn't welcome in my home) that 9/11 was directly caused by the American government. I find it insulting beyond measure.
Now I'm confused and upset.
I can't believe that people think this way. I believe that internet conspiracies will be the downfall of the US.

BTW: Inat, I'm as shocked as you are that an Israeli believes this. She also did implicate Israel.
Inat, not all people from on place all believe the same thing!

Internet conspiracies will not be the down fall of anything but the 1% of the morons that buy into them.
Without exception, everyone I have spoken to who thinks the 9/11 theory is anything but complete bull **** has NOT EVEN READ THE BIPARTISAN REPORT on the events leading up to and including 9/11.
Of course, a chronological report of the valid and verifiable facts isn't nearly as interesting as the following (actual quote from one of the charter members of this ridiculous conspiracy)
"No planes were involved in 9/11 (they) were missiles surrounded by holograms made to look like planes."
Hindsight is a marvelous thing - and, yes, I believe we ignored the severity of the Islamic terror attacks and acts of war pretty much since 1979. Does that mean we "indirectly caused 9/11?" by not taking action sooner?
Of course not! These dirt bags have been indiscriminately murdering thousands of innocent men, women and children all over the globe for years.
(Note: Bill Clinton may have told Bush to put Bin Laden on the top of his priorities - which begs the question: Why didn't Bill Clinton put Bin Laden on the top of his priorities?

You my friend are ever so wrong. 9/11 was an inside job. Have you seen pictures of the pentagon? The hole left there was so small, about the size a missile would make. Oh yeah towers that high just don't come down perfectly like that either. They were detonated, just like WTC 7, which later the owner, silverstein, came out and said, "um yeah we were all set to detonate the building that day and we decided to just go ahead and demolish it.. Man you must live under a rock or in delusion of what really happened. And the war with Iraq is b.s. beyond belief. There were no WMD's and the only reason they started a war is because they, i.e rumsfeld, cheney, bush and friends all invest a great amount of money in halliburton, which coincidentally makes weapons.

I am astonished that your Israeli baby sitter believes such. When I was working at a telecom, one of my co-workers, an educated muslim programmer, believed the jews conspired it.
Is your babysitter Palestinian/Arab or Jewish?
However, I hope you did not fire your babysitter for her beliefs. It would be morally wrong; wouldn't you sue your employer for firing you for what you believe?
I have my own theories of what will be the downfall of the US - and it will not be internet conspiracies - it will be Ignorance.
Americans are ignorant, and President Bush is Willfully Ignorant.
I have a lot of thoughts on this topic...
BTW did you get your previous issues resolved?

Israelis do not believe 9/11 was caused by the U.S; It is the Arabs who are trying to deflect their guilt by blaming everyone else!
The German newspaper Der Spiegel reported (about a year after 9/11) that two Israeli Mossad agents were trailing Muhammad Atta, (the head suicide bomber on 9/11).
The Mossad agents went to the CIA about a year before 9/11, saying that Atta is planning something major against the U.S. The CIA responded by deporting the agents and ignoring the information.
So go hire back your Israeli babysitter, you stupid ignorant idiot!!!!

Many polls show that 45% - 50% of Americans believe we do not know the truth about 9-11.
A poll this weekend by MSNBC showed that 86% of those responding believe the govt is lying to us to some degree.

Most people don't believe the government was part of a conspiracy theory on 9/11, but the few that do are more vocal about their own ideas.
