Absolutely. I have done this.
I moved to Chicago for my man. I was there for 7 years. Last year we moved back to Australia permanantely.
You must not make this decision lightly. Talk to your partner. Decide where you will spend the rest of your life together. Will it be in his country or your country?
Also, know that this will be very hard on you at times. You WILL get homesick, and there is NOTHING, that anyone can do or say that is going to make you feel better. You just have to get through it yourself. Sure, your partner can be supportive and understanding of your feelings, but really, there is nothing that can take away the feelings of missing your family and your country.
I have no regrets and would do it again! My hubby is very special to me and I am glad I made the decisions that I did. Good luck in making the decisions that are right for you.

I did for 13 years.I am Australian and I moved to Ireland as my husband at the time was travelling around Australia and we fell in love.He overstayed his visa because I got pregnant and immigration wouldn't let him stay any longer,so when our daughter was born,we left.I didn't know how long I was going to go for at the time, but we did know that it could be 5 years before they would let him back in Australia for overstaying his visa. But now we are in Australia 13 years, and it's a strange feeling having your family around you for all your special occasions when you haven't for such a long time.I am loving it,but I also know that my husband is in the same boat I was,and i know that it's very important to home on a regular basis,so we have been here 9 months, and he has been home twice, and I hope that he continues to do so,as I know how important it can be.

you really need to know the country is secure. There are many things behind something like that. If it is just so he can be with his family, why did he leave??? think long and hard

Yes I would if I really loved this person ( it would have to be a husband fiance or family member)... if they were a friend or boyfriend whom I wasn't serious about then no.

A friend of mine did just that - moved to England. But she hates it this time of year. She has four grown children and some grandkids.

Most definitely, especially if you know that he's not gonna leave you in that country for somebody else or sell you into the sex trade industry.

I'd have to weigh out the pro's and con's. This isn't a yes or no type of question!
