A baby is considered full term at 38 wks. 37 wks is early but not too early and the side effects of you continuing your pregnancy with such high blood pressure probably outweigh the benifits of the baby being born full term. Stay Calm honey. Take Care and Good Luck.

I will answer based up my own personal experience, I was having very bad BP issues with my son. My Dr didn't even want to induce due to the fact that the actual birth would be too much stress on my heart that I could have a heart attack during birth! He suggested a c-section at 35 weeks. My son is now 4 1/2 yo and doing just fine! So, 37 weeks is great for baby and mom. I just wouldn't suggest a natural birth but a c-section. Hope this helps.

Definately if your doctor is wanting to induce you now at 37 weeks which is considered full term because you are having high blood pressure then it is probably the best option for you and for your baby. They do not like to induce unless the baby is better off out of your tummy than in. In which this case it would be, because of pre-eclampsia and other complications that can arise.

If your blood pressure it that high it is probably important that you deliver the baby. 37 is considered full term
Laboring with high blood pressure sounds tricky to me; you need to ask your Dr a lot of questions in order to be prepared for the big event.
You need to know How they intend to induce you? (Pitocen, the little pill by the cervix ETC)
How will induction affect the me and the baby?
How will pain meds affect me and the baby?
What are the odds of a c-section?
What is the effect of high blood pressure on the baby?

Get you pen and paper out and schedule an appointment to meet with your Dr.!!

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

YES!!!! If your pressure is high then it will be hard on you and the baby during delivery, so it is a great idea to induce at 37 weeks. It actually benefits you and the baby and it is safer. CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK!

I would trust your doctor on this one, but from all our friends that have been induced 37 weeks is just fine. It's only 3 weeks away from the bingo date anyway - you're in good territory.

yes it is safe, it also a good idea if you have high blood pressure. baby can actually be delivered safely at only 34 weeks. My sister-in-law gave birth to her daughter at 32 weeks, and other than a low birth weight and some jaundice, was perfectly fine. good luck.

i went into labor at 37 weeks and my daughter is fine. the benefits of you being induced now is FAR safer than if you wait - figure...the doctor is recommending for a reason. Best of luck! It will be fine... :)
