First of all, if he's 36 years old he is not a "boy" anymore, but to answer your question, yes, a relationship with 15 years or more difference in the ages CAN work. But it won't be easy. You will run into a lot of problems that you never anticipated. My daughter is 17 years younger than her husband and they have a fine marriage. BUT there ARE times when my daughter longs to do things that he no longer cares to do because he's "been there, done that" and so she does have times when she gets depressed. Just be very sure before you make any permanent steps that your love for each other is strong enough to survive the winds of change that will inevitably come.

The age gap is not the problem here. I think a 5 year age difference is no big deal BUT you're only 15, how can you be married? Isn't there a law against an adult marrying or engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor? You're still a minor. Legally, it's statutory rape. I hope apart from family, no one else knows that you've had sex coz you will get your guy into trouble with the law.

He is using you as a trophy. Telling all his buds that he's got a young chickie. You two quarrel because of the generation gap. If you want to stay in this relationship then you need to hone your skills to stay in the conversation, up to his level. If this is just a sexual relationship then you need to move on and find someone else closer to your own age or around 6 years older. Guys that are 6 years older than the girl usually work out the best, maturity wise.

I am sorry to say that the odds are against this working out. I have known several 18-20 year old girls who have "fallen in love" with older men who prey on this age group. None of their marriages lasted longer than 2 years. They all came out of the marriage with one or two small children and a huge debt. These men used them until the men found someone else to chase.

Age differences generally do not matter in relationships as long as one of the parties is not a minor. Enjoy your relationship!
