well leaders are born leaders. but a leader can have tons of completely different characteristics
Considering Jesus was a leader. However, Hitler was also a leader. Though both were leaders, they had almost exactly opposite views, characteristics, and morals. Hope this helps. And just remember, a lot of people are born to be followers!

Tact. Should definately be tact. Also, well-spoken and most leaders are attractive, so looks helps. People say it's not a factor, but it is. And living up to your promises is also a good quality, although many politicians use it wrong. Reliable and loyal.
