Is the movie The Departed any good? The tralier looks pretty good and it's up for some Golden Globes. If I take the time to see it, will it be worth my time?

The movie is in one word: WONDERFUL. There is strong dialogue, intrigue and great music. The acting is top notch; it's right up there with the crisp direction and editing. It is very very violent but I was able to look past that. It had me sitting on the edge of my seats at some parts. Leonardo and Jack were AMAZING. They better get their Golden Globes as well as Oscars for their roles.
The Departed is a five star movie and the best film of 2006.

The movie is great (what else would one expect from scorsese)...the movie is well-cast, with everyone doing authentic Boston accents. Matt Damon, I must say, is turning into a fine actor. Jack Nicholson is once again a scene stealer. I enjoyed how this version gave us some different twists from the original Hong Kong version which you may want to watch after seeing the remake.

It's a great movie. As has been said, the acting is stellar all around, with everyone putting in an outstanding performance. Jack Nicholson is so convincing as an insane mob boss, it makes me wonder if he actually is one. It's an overall great movie, worth the time and money you'd put in to see it.

This is a fantastic movie. I went to see it twice. Leonardo DiCaprio was so good in the movie. There was just something about him. He was so believable. The story is like real life in a way. The way the characters interact with each other is realistic, even though they are mobsters. I definitely recommend seeing it.

If certainly will be. I think it's one of the best movies I've seen this year. The plot is so full of twists you can't even try to guess the ending.

it was pretty good. it was an american version of a movie called infernal afairs that came out in like 2000-2001 can't totally remember which year for sure but it was really popular in japan. but both were pretty good

You should absolutely go see it! Fantastic movie! Good storytelling, solid acting, believable characters, fast-paced plot, excellent screenplay, and Martin Scorcese directing. It's his best movie since Goodfellas. Best movie I've seen this year.

It is a bit confusing throughout the entire movie... There is A LOT of shooting and Killing and Voilence and BLOOD!!!
I personally did not really like it... Wait until it comes out on DVD/video.
