You didn't really explain how the woman is special...is she your wife? A woman you want to get closer to? What? Any suggestion would really depend on what your relationship to the woman is...she's special to you, but what are you to her? If you're a secret crush, it may be a bit much to buy something over the top...more info would help!

this might seem like a crappy answer but i agree with all the above. lol
my boyfriend and i started going out last september and for christmas he got me a gold necklace with a single pearl pendant on it. it's simple and not too expensive but i absolutely love it. this year he had to get me a new chain for it because the last one broke accidentally. it's the first piece of jewelry he's ever gotten me and that makes it very special.

Give her a present that means something. Think of a special time that you've had together and give her something that will remind her of it. If there's a meaning to your gift, it doesn't matter what it costs.

It is not important to give her a special, precious or expensive things. Everything is precious if she love what you give her. That is I mean even a small stone is a precious or good gift for her if she love you and your gift. But I don't mean to give her a 'stone'.
