I was on my Christmas night out on Saturday night and (somehow?!) got a large amount of vomit on my suit.

I cleaned off as much as I could, then took it to the dry-cleaners.

It's came back clean as a whistle, but there's still a faint odour.

So any ideas as to how I can get rid of the smell completely?

The suit is dry-clean only.

Thanks.

Ted - I told the Dry-Cleaners what the stain was (although I'm sure they would have guessed anyway by the smell!)

Currently planning to hang it outside for a while, then take it to another dry-cleaner.

Not too keen on soaking it in case the jascket shrinks.

Anyone have any first-hand experience of this?

Mom*2 - Will that not just replace the vomit smell with a vanilla smell?

Thanks.

You had better burn the suit and get a new one. Next time wear a bib when you go out drinking.

Dilute Some lemon in the water....soak ur suit where the fainted area is .... keep it for 25-35 minutes...rinse in water..... if still u r facing problems then first apply "SA8" An Amway Corporation product. Keep it for 1 hr, dry it, send it for dry-clean. I have used SA8 and all smell went off and there was no stains left.

Did you tell the cleaners what was on the suit? If not, they have no way of knowing what to use to get the smell out. Tell them and they will use a special cleaner for this purpose.

you could try sprinkling some bicarbonate of soda over the area leave it over night then shake it off in the morning the smell should have all gone by then.
Its what mum's use to get rid of the smell of baby sick on their clothes etc so should work for your suit too.

place the suit in a bag with a few cottonballs soaked in vanilla extract. seal the bag tightly and leave it sit over night. vanilla is a natural odor absorber.
good luck!
no, vanilla absorbs the odor, give it a try, works great!

Buy some 90% rubbing alcohol and pour where the vomit was. It sure couldn`t hurt it!!!

Check the pockets.

If that doesn't work take the suit back to where you bought it, throw it in their trash can and buy a new one.

Use a fabric freshener like Febreeze. You only need to give it a couple of squirts.
