My family and are anticipating a move to to AZ due to job transfer. We are trying to find a nice area near East McDowell Road perferably Scottsdale, AZ or somewhere in Chandler. In truth we are not familiar with either place but as a start we are looking to rent a three bedroom home for no more than $1000.00 but in a descent area. Later on I want to buy a home. Is this possible? and what is a nice area to live in Arizona?

You should be able to find what you are looking for in south Scottsdale which is around McDowell Rd. You will do really well anywhere in the east valley. lots to choose from. Rent for a little while till you find the right area for you. Market is down, so there are a lot of houses for sale to choose from at much lower prices than a couple of years ago..

A 3-bdrm house for $1000/month in any decent area of Metro Phoenix is not likely. You will need at least $1100. You may be able to get a townhouse or condo in nicer areas for $900-1000 though. Scottsdale is decent with great schools. Ahwatukee is one of the better areas (at least $1300 for a home but less for condos & townhouses) and also excellent schools. Deer Valley is decent with homes for $800/mo but that is the other side of town (more North Central Phx area). Chandler varies widely, with some very nice (and expensive) areas and some very bad areas. If you see a house for rent cheap, make sure you find out why because some of the areas are bad for crime & violence.

Scottsdale is very nice but also expensive. you should be able to find a three bedroom , but you'll probably end up in mesa. East mesa is a nice area you should look there. Try going onto craigslist and looking for rentals. Housing prices are going down so you should be able to buy something soon.

Scottsdale is fairly lovely, but when it comes to living accommodation it is not cheap, for a three bedroom you may have to dig deep in your pocket wages or not very bad back that end so i guess you have to live according to the salary scale,

A NICE PLACE TO LIVE IN THE PHOENIX AREA IS LAVEEN. LAVEEN IS A NEW CITY. EVERYTHING IN IT IS NEW. THERE IS A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION FOR NEW HOMES AND STORES. IT IS PEACEFUL OUT HERE. YOU SHOULD COME CHECK OUT LAVEEN. TO GET TO LAVEEN, YOU SHOULD GO SOUTH ON 51st AVE. ONCE YOU PASS LOWER BUCKEYE RD. , YOU ARE IN LAVEEN.
