Sand in swimming trunks/suit/booty?

Question

If you're taking the kids/nephews/nieces/etc. to the beach, what do you do to get sand out of their trunks and booty's after?

I've seen moms actually take their kid by the shower pull from behind their trunks and just clean right their with their hands.

How do others handle this?

How do you help them get it out?

There is a shower usually at the pavilion to shower the kid down, or use a sand bucket and pour ocean water to run the sand down.
