Hey, sorry to hear about the stretch marks. My wife has them and they drive her bonkers! But she looks just as beautiful with them as she does without. But I understand ; ( Stretch marks are caused by the release of hormones in the body, not so much the stretching of the skin. There is a lot of examples of people with sists in which areas of their bodies grow 3 times the size of a child and there is no stretch marks. Now on to your question, is there a way to prevent the stretch marks, the answer is no (medical journal suggest) even though there is a huge market out there telling you that stretch marks can be prevented. And can you fix the marks after they have appeared...well...the answer is still no. Unless you have a tummy tuck, which in my opinion looks far worse than stretch marks. Realize this surgery goes from one side of the waist to the other, that's if you are referring to marks on your stomach. Just think of them as a right of passage - battle scars and look what you have to show for it! You're beautiful!

I used Mederma during my pregnancy and although I got some stretch marks they weren't too bad. I have contained to use it and the redness has gone away. There is no way to get rid of stretch marks but you can lighten them or any scar with Mederma. It is a bit pricey, but defiantly worth it.

Use palmer's cocoa butter for stretch marks and rub it on them in the morning evening and night. Especially when you get through bathing. It really works.

every doctor and midwife at the hospital said, no cream will stop stretch marks, you either get them or you dont, i rubbed palmers coco butter into my skin 3 times a day, and ended up with horrible ones! the only thing i was told would help them fade in colour was zinc!

You can soften them by using vitamin E oil and lots of good moisturizer. They will eventually fade they will never go away unless you have surgery.
