Depending on your age and your circumstances, i would say be nice to everyone you see (smile it confuses people) if you are a mum make Small talk with the other parents, if at college or uni same thing but always ask about them cos everyone loves to talk about themselves. find out what their interests are and if you are compatiable. if you are in none of these situations, join a club that interests you so you will get to know like minded people. good luck x

join a club-if there is something you like to do like music or sports etc. join one. This way you meet people who like to do things you do and w/ a teammate,etc. you'll become friends.
