There is no difference. An "ipod" is the trademark name given to mp3 players made by APPLE.

An mp3 player is a general term. They can be made by anyone. An iPod is an mp3 player made by Apple.

an iPod is a brand of MP3. iPods are MP3s. For example, Big Macs are a certain type of hamburger that is trademarked by McDonalds. But there is no difference between Big Macs and hamburgers! And there's no difference between iPods and MP3s. :D

ther's isn't much differents in both... mp3 player is just an mp3 player,, it can b made by any company... like sony, toshiba, samsong and etc... but ipod is made only by apple... that's the big difference...
