Considering the millions of letters, magazines and parcels that go through the mail system daily, only a tiny fraction get "lost". The USPS is the most reliable mail service in the world. Mail is not lost but sometimes is misdelivered, or it can be delayed when the recipient has moved but left no forwarding address. Typically, when a check is expected and does not come, the Post Office is always blamed, but the truth is that people lie about when they send the check 100% of the time when it is late. The post mark date confirms it time after time.

it is definitely possible quite a number of years ago my renter left a money order in an envelope, addressed to me, without a stamp stupidly they put the envelope in my mail box and the mail person(or someone) took it and cashed it how they could cash it without my identification, is beyond me but when the renter tried to find out about it being cashed by Mon(the letter was left on a Sat) it had already been cashed--now you make your own decision about who cashed it

We ship hundreds of things yearly with them and have had nothing lost. If you are worried about a particular item have it registered or insured.
