I just broke up with my "boyfriend" of two months. I'm 18 and go to an all boys high school. I recently just started a gay-straight alliance club there. My 24-year old english teacher hosts it, and now, he's hitting on me. What do i do? Do I reject him, or do I go with it?

this is touchy, b/c he is a teacher at your high school, if you like him i would persue it only after contimplating tehse few things. You cannot have an open relationship till after you graduate b/c if you do he the teacher will be fired.Meet and talk away from school only unless it is about school, and don't tell anyone unless you don't like this teacher and you beleive he could be a threat to you then I would for sure turn him in. otherwise talk to him, but remember you can't let anyone know they could harm any potention relationship you may have with him.

If you're 18 and working through the issues of your sexuality, you've probably had enough of people telling you what you can and can't do sexually.
However, there are very good reasons why you should not go ahead, even aside from the fact that it will destroy your teacher's credibility and career in the eyes of any present or future employers.
Although he's young (and in my view naive) his job is to protect and nurture your development, not you his. This is a very poor basis for a relationship of equals, and is an abuse of trust.
I hope this isn't presumptuous, but is there an element in you that might be seeking some validation of your sexuality, and the fact that you are worth loving, especially after your recent break up? If so, a sexual realtionship with a teacher might seem on the surface to be a good way of getting that validation, but it won't work in the long run: you need to find these things within yourself - only then is real love possible.

This is an abuse of power on your teacher's part. It's no different than being propositioned by a priest. You are old enough at 18 to make your own decision, but if you rebuff him and he lowers your grades, this could get ugly. Could you handle being mistreated by a teacher who is also a lover? Could you handle being called "teacher's pet" in a way that people thought you didn't earn your grades?
I am concerned that he has done this before with other students. Please don't let him get away with pursuing younger fellows who might look up to him because of his position. Even if you don't report him, his behavior is far from innocent.

Isn't it against the teacher's job ehtics to get involved with a student? Maybe you are only thinking that he is hitting on you when he is only trying to be nice to you? I would reassess the situation before doing any thing that might ruin the whole club, not just your relationship with your teacher.

If the this person is a teacher it is illegal to pursue any relationship with him, til after you are out of High school

i agree with NH that a teacher pressuring a student into dating is an abuse of power..
i'd tell him that you feel uncomfortable with the idea of dating a teacher..
if he persists, pull out of the club and file a complaint. who knows how many other students he has been pursuing.. this is not good!

If you are a senior don't don anything until after you graduate. If you are younger then don't do anything at all. Although I am sure it's flattering that he is into you, it is completely wrong on his part to do anything about the attraction until you are no longer his student.

You see this is what happens when you leave your child at an all boy school man they turn gay! J.K DONT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY! i suggest you get away from him before he thinks you "want"him afterall you are in highschool GOOD LUCK MAN
