Diwali is known as the festival of lights and celebrates the triumph of good over evil, lightness over darkness.
It relates to the exile of Lord Rama and his triumphant return from exile....It is also a celebration and an invitation to Mother Lakshmi into your home bringing with her prosperity and wealth...
we celebrate Diwali by having an oil bathi.e dabbing oil on our hair and bathing...we all wear new clothes, our homes are spring cleaned...we bake delicious goodies and share them with our neighbours and strangers alike...and in the evening we light oil lamps all around our home and we have a huge fireworks display...It's just awesome

Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights and a special occasion to worship Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Mahabali. The festival marks the victory of good over evil, which in my point of view is pretty cool.
