I'm taking care of someone's tree frog over the xmas break. It's been sitting in the corner of the terrarium for the whole day. It's clearly alive because i can see his neck pulsating with his breathing. The guy put about 5 crickets in before he left and I think the frog ate them all except one. He doesn't look very active and I'm wondering if they're supposed to just sit around all day?

Pretty much; if their stomachs are full and they're the right temperature and not being disturbed, what need do they have to move? Reptiles and amphibians are like that.

Sounds a lot like me right after Thanksgiving...

I needed several days of just sitting in the corner breathing. I was ok by the following Monday.

purple eyed tree frogs are delicate and should not be dealt with. i could say a white's tree frog. they have a thick waxy dermis which will besides the very undeniable fact which you to handle them. and do never combination any reptile.

Yes it is normal for them to not move for hours and hours. If it is a white's tf they can stay stuck to the wall all day and only move around at night when you don't see them. If the crickets keep disappearing then you have nothing to worry about.

No, they are not very active. If you are concerned that something is wrong, contact a local reptile store and inquire about proper temperature and feeding, just to reassure yourself that you are doing everything right. Good luck!
