You don't have to download anything. First, you must set up your iTunes account. When it is set up, you go to the music store. You can browse the top 100 songs, search by genre, or search for the exact name of a song/album/artist. Once you've found a song you want, you simply click " buy song", which is located right next to the song. It will download to your library. Click on library in the little side panel, and hook your iPod into the computer. Once it's in, you drag the song over to your iPod, which should appear on the side panel if it is plugged in correctly. Repeat this as many times as you want.
If you want to take songs off a CD, you put the CD into your computer and then click "import CD" on the top of the iTunes screen. You can select which songs you want, and then they will also go into your library. Drag the song over to your iPod, and it will download directly onto it.
Hope this helped...good luck!~*

First, you'll need to install the itunes software on your computer. Itunes is a program that consolidates all the music files on your computer and loads them onto your ipod. You may buy songs from the itunes store or take them off cds you already own. Arrange the songs to your liking using the itunes software. Finally, connect your ipod to your computer using the cable that came with it. Everything should download to your ipod automaticly.
