My model is a Compaq Presario---- SR1303wm desktop

What to do.....?

I do not see why not. The only thing I would recomend you doing is if you are trying to use your computer for gaming or video editing as the primary function then you should really look at getting a new computer that is capable.

Your desktop cannot handle SLI and PCIe video cards so it will not handle high end video cards....

You need to look at AGP video cards since the motherboard for your system will at best have 1 AGP slot and 3 PCI... PCI is older and slower then AGP...

Recommendation: ATI X800, NVidia G7800 w/256 mb video memory would cost you about $200. But there are cheaper cards if you wanted...

When you install the new card, you would need to disable the old card in the BIOS....
