Need to unlock PS2 to play DVDs, but password is unknown. How do I bypass or reset it?

I asked this before and the suggestions didnt work. 7444 doesnt, 0000, 1234, 4321, etc... do not work. It is set to level 8 security and I cant figure out how to play the dang DVDs. It was given to us and he cannot recall what password he used. Help!

put in the DVD that needs a password

do not push ANYTHING

when it asks for a password, you need to push SELECT

now, AFTER you've pushed select, push left, left, left, X, left, left, left, X, X, X (in other words, put in 7-4-4-4)

now it will ask you to choose a new password for future use

when a movie is telling you that you need a password, do the following PUSH select first! now, enter 7-4-4-4 now it will ask if you'd like to change the password - i recommend making it 0-0-0-0 so you only need to keep pushing the X button to get through the passwords

Damn dude! I had that problem some years ago there is no know way to bypass that. My girlfriend figured mine out when I forgot it was 0007 --see I thought picked something easy to remember and plane forgot. Hopefully they put a simple number in there. A birthday, straight numbers like 5555, 3333, ect... You could do it the hard way: put in easy number combinations and cross your fingures. Who game was it? Find out what numbers they would use or something. This won't help much but it will let you know what poll of numbers to guess from. I do think the person put in a simple number combination or a revelant number to them like birthdays, or an event day like 911 but just add 1 to make it to 9111.
