Beardies do have a smell to them. It comes from being an omnivore. The meat portion of their diet makes the feces smell. If it's a very strong smell, they may have intestinal parasites. This can make them smell very strong. Take in a fecal to your local vet. It doesn't even have to be an exotic one (though it would be best in case meds are prescribed)...all fecals are done the same way.
Instead of astroturf, go to using newspaper for awhile. It's all I use in all my cages except the Cages by Design cage. That's an 8' x 4' piece of astroturf. It's easiest to clean up and you can monitor your beardie's poop better... ;-)

don't know if this helps but reptiles are prone to bacterial infections don't clean the tank with bleach as this could kill them try asking at a pet store for an anti bacterial spray cleaner specifically for reptiles change the water regularly and clean out any left over food regularly this may help but if the problem persist you need veterinary treatment could be a fungal infection or even some form of mouth rot not well up on bearded dragons but i have an iguana and they can pose similar problems good luck

hi there
one at 4month old u shouldn't use sand they tend to eat it and it will cause them to be impacted and even death ... give a luke bath every 3rd day not to deep... just enough to go to their mid section (never leave them alone ) for the tank wash the furniture (logs ,rocks )for the substrate use beta chip or aspen it keeps the order down and it's safer then sand for them and looks nice ......if all else fails u need to replace the tank ..it's would be mostly likely the silicone in the tank that smells(possibility)

Infections can cause weird and foul odors to come from your dragons bring them to a vet and get a blood test and a poop test so they can tell what is wrong and they can make sure everything else is ok while you are there. Reptiles aren't prone to bacterial infections that is rediculous.

I have a Beardie and they do not smell. You don't need to clean out their cage every day, you should probably clean it out every 3-5 days.

I would take them for a vet check up if they were mine. There could be a problem with their diet or an infection which you havnt spotted...I hope things improve soon;
