If you feel comfortable, use them. I got my period at 12 and started using tampons right away. I didn't use pads until I went to college actually. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need to change them more than you might your pads. The disease your mom is talking about is Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS)- it's something that both males and females can get. We (females) have a better chance because we have the tampons in our bodies which can keep bacteria in there. If you change the tampon, every four hours you should be fine using them. I would talk to your mom about it some more but try to get her to see that you did some research about the topic and you're not just whining.

My mom used to tell me similar things. If you feel you are ready to use them, you should be able to at least try. The biggest thing you need to remember is to use the right absorbency and change it every 4-6 hours like the box will tell you to do. Leaving them in for a very long time can be bad for you, which is probably where your mom is coming from. Could you talk to another female that might be able to help you, like a sister or older friend, or perhaps the school nurse? You shouldn't disobey your parents, but if you really feel you are ready to try tampons then maybe another woman can help you talk to her.

The tampon you employ could remember on your bypass, many females swap absorbency's as their era gets lighter. the 1st time you employ a tampon, i might strongly recommend making use of a mild, narrow or junior tampon for the 1st cycle. Smaller tampons are extra handy to insert, plus you will get an thought of ways heavy your bypass is. in simple terms placed on a liner or narrow pad. How often you're able to alter it provide you a concept of what absorbency you're able to be making use of and any leftover mild tampons could be used on mild bypass days. you're able to not use a extra absorbent tampon than you decide on (no great tampons on a mild bypass day). They placed you at extra suitable danger of poisonous marvel Syndrome (TSS). Tampons could get replaced each 4-8 hours. wearing one for extra suitable than 8 hours places you at extra suitable danger for TSS. As for producers, it extremely is a private determination, one isn't any extra suitable than the different. My determination is Tampax Pearl Unscented, yet all of them stay placed.

i was in 7th grade when i started my period and probably started using tampons 5 months after i started. it really depends on how you feel but make sure your mom is fine with it also.
She is only doing what is best for you.

i would start wearing them if you've started your period.
pads are very uncomfortable
you just need to understand TTS and
everything that goes along with it
you should be fine.
