No!!!
You can't play PS3 games on PS2 but you can play PS2 games on PS3.
There are several reasons for this :
1.Ps3 has a better graphic card which means that Ps3 games would be highly graphicized which Ps2 will be unable to play
2.Whenever a brand introduces new product it wants consumers to buy the new product or upgrade to a new product so thats why Ps3 can play Ps2 games but Ps2 can't.

No but you can play ps2 games on ps3 although not much fun.
