inside the wiper motor there is a "parking sensor" which basically stops the motor in the right position so the blades are in the right position, this has gone faulty and is telling the motor to stop in the wrong place, to fix this you need another wiper motor

the relay is a sealed unit on the actual wiper motor thus the wiper motor must b replaced

Sounds like the linkage to the wiper motor has come insecure and now not alligned properly.
