when i was induced with my 1st daughter 5 years ago i was scared like that to i didn't get an epidural either so i know how you feel don't be scared all it is a liquid that gets put in your iv to make your contractions come quicker . you should get an epidural soon after that so you don't feel the pain there nothing to worry about. just think of as an experience. good luck!

I have been induced twice- by the time the contractions get strong- or before- you could ask for an epidural and then you won't feel much of anything- that part was wonderful- I had an epidural on my last along w being induced- w my son I was induced and had no pain reliever- did fine- the best thing to do is not tense up w a contraction- and purposely relax the muscles and rest in between contractions- COngrats- D

To induce labor they generally just give you a drug called Pitocin in your IV. They also may break your water for you. Neither one of these will hurt.
I know there are some who advocate a drug-free labor (no epidural) but I had one and the whole experience was just wonderful. The worst my pain got was equivalent with bad cramps!
If you have a c-section they will give you something to knock you out, so you won't feel it.
Good luck to you and congrats (early) on your special X-mas present!

never had a baby but 5 of my friends have. 2 have been induced. they have all told me induced contractions are a mother you know what. like 10 times worse than regular contractions.
but a c section will make you sore afterwards. not trying to scare you, but everyone is different. they usually want you to try to have the baby naturally instead of a c section. i think induced would be better, because a c section is surgery, i think i would much rather take my chances with am induced labor and epideral .

The actual inducing which is no more than the doc or nurse sticking a long thin pin like a knitting needle in you. When the water comes out there is no pain but when the actual labor starts that is when the pain comes in. Breathe, breathe and focus, breathe and focus, breathe and focus.

I was induced...it wasn't too bad...but the pitocin induced contractions felt like I had thrown myself int a brick wall...I had a epidural right away and was in labour for 6 hours and pushed him out in 33 minutes.

enduction does hurt. they put some jel on ur cervix, that causes you to contract, and some times it makes it happed way to fast and then you have to have a cesiarian. i was enduced with all my kids, and the last one happeded so fast i had no time for a epidural, but there is one thing that i can tell you, use the jaccuzzi tub, it does wonders for the pain, and makes the whole prossess faster! but i wouldnt say that it hurts more then normal labour, but it can give ya some intense contractions, I used the jaccuzzi tub with my last one and i really wish i would have done it with all of them. as far as the rate for cesiarian, im not sure because i myself have never had to have one. good luck !

maximum physician and midwife won't set off except for a scientific reason. so which you would be able to desire to only experience it out. Ive additionally heard the contractions with being prompted are extra painful than the contractions with organic exertions. basically relax and experience out the final 2 weeks. i comprehend the way you sense however, It quite sucks I basically prefer to have this toddler. yet I could desire to experience it out additionally.
