i want to delete items i have already visited from my computer history.how do i proceed

The easiest way is to download CCleaner, just Google it.
It automatically removes a bunch of crap, all history and such.
It'll delete maybe about 200 to 500 mb of crap from your comp. Free too.

There are a number of options. You may choose any one or more of them. The downloads are freewares.
Download and run
Internet Eraser from
http://www.privacyeraser.com/free-internet-eraser.htm
and
CCleaner from
http://www.ccleaner.com/

You can also perfrom the following
Open Internet Explorer
To Delete Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, History,
Click Tools->Delete Browsing History -> Delete the cookies and temporary files as well as history.
or
Follow these instructions
STEP 1: Click Start on the desktop.
STEP 2: Go to Settings.
STEP 3: Click Control Panel.
STEP 4: Double-click Internet Options.
STEP 5: Make sure the General tab is selected.
STEP 6: Click Clear History in the History box.
STEP 7: Click OK when it asks if you want to delete all items in your history folder.
STEP 8: Click OK at the bottom of the General box to exit.

Yeah, I strongly recommend you use CCleaner. Here is the link to the website: http://www.ccleaner.com/. If you don't want to do that deleting you history is a very easy process. If you are using Internet Explorer do the following:

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu.
3. Click the "Clear History" button.

If you want to make sure Internet Explorer never records your history perform this step:

4. Set the "Days to keep pages in history" setting to "0".

If you are using Mozilla Firefox simply press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL. You will then be presented with an menu asking you to delete your private data. Make sure the browsing history checkbox is checked and click 'Clear Private Data Now'.
