Is there anything that can be done in a UK doctors surgery as in help given or a test to check whether she is actually pregnant? We're both very worried about it as still in school and dont want it to happen. We were both very drunk and didnt realise the urgency of it till after. What can be done, are there any non invasive procedures?

Generally there are only enough hormones in a woman's system to test for pregnancy two weeks after conception (or roughly the day the woman's period is due assuming she has round about a 28 day cycle). It is very non-invasive in that all the woman need do is pee on a stick and then the test will show the result - you can buy them yourself at any chemist or even supermarkets, or you can go to a doctor and ask for a test.

If you get a positive result and there is the possibility you may not want to go ahead with the pregnancy, you need to seek advice as soon as possible. Don't delay, as this could reduce the availibilty of termination as an option if this might be what you both want.

Pregnancy tests aren't very accurate until the first day of a missed period, so don't do one before then because it could give an incorrect result. You don't have to go to the doctors - buy one from a chemist and that way she can do it in private.
I believe that the coil can be fitted as a form of emergency contraception, but clinics are reluctant to do this on young women as there is a small chance of an infection that would lead to infetility.
Really, you just have to cross your fingers and hope her period comes.

Wait and see if she has her period, if she does then the answer is no she cant be pregnant, but if she does not come on then i would start thinking about taking further action.

I would just like to state that this is why there is a a age limit on SEX!! because these sort of things happen.

Wrap your winkie before you thinki!! also both get a STD check if you live in the UK i am sure you have seen them adverts for the sexually transmitted infections. They have put them on telly for a good reason!!!!!

Firsty, if you're still in school you shouldn't ne drinking and getting yourself into situations were you could end up catching STI's. Always use a condom. Right, lecture over. I'm afriad you're gonna have to sit this one out. I would get yourself checked out and then if the young girl misses her period you need to get her to take a test. A doctors test is much more accurate than a pharmacy test. This will be done by a blood test and will measure the hormone levels in her blood.

You can buy pregnancy test kits in large supermarkets if you want somewhere anonymous. They cost about £10. You usually get two tests with it. You will get immediate results. If your girl's pregnant go to the doctors. Otherwise take her to a family planning clinic (no appointments neces) and get her to go on the pill. They will be v supportive. If you want they will do the test for you.

Now is NOT the time to think of this. . . you should have thought BEFORE you had sex. You'll have to have her get a pregnancy test either over the counter or at the doctors office. If she's pregnant you'll need to arrange for an adoption. At least that way her medical expenses will be covered.

If you missed the slot for the morning after pill, then you will prob just have to wait and find out... however, you should also be worried about STD's and both get yourself checked out aswell.

ooops ! well, let's hope u both learn from this ! the only thing that i can suggest is that she does a pregnancy test as soon as she can, and if it does turn out that she's pregnant, and u don't want to go through with the pregnancy, get yourselves to the doctors as soon as possible.
