Use WD-40 or Varsol....I have had better luck with Varsol (Talked with an Autobody Shop owner) and Varsol will not damage your Clearcoat on your paint. Just wash off the vehicle with soap and water after you cleaned off the sap.

Also, I have heard of using some type of Citrus solution you can buy but I think the results are mixed.

It depends on how long it has been on there so i will give you two answers.

1) IF THE SAP IS STILL GOOEY simply use rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball rub back and forth gently until it dissapears. works everytime.

2) IF THE SAP IS VERY HARD your going to have to use a solution of 90% paint thinner 10% water(THIS WILL NOT HURT THE PAINT) soak with towel and rub hard to remove sap.. afterwards take your favorite wax and go over where your removed the sap ,to get rid of scratches caused by rubbing hard with towels.

Cleaners like Simple Green will do the job, also try WD-40 then soap and water after that.

The solvent in WD-40 is great for that.

I don't know the answer, but I DO know from personal experience that it will eat through the paint if you leave it there.
