I read this funny book but I couldn't understand if is it a true story or not. I made some searches 'round the internet but nothing was helpful for me. so... is it a true story, or just a romance written as a true story?

No wonder you couldn't tell- It sounds like it's basically a true book- probably with some embellishment. Here's the Wikipedia entry and link:

"Yes Man
Wallace's second solo book, Yes Man was published in July 2005. In it, he describes how he spent a half year "saying Yes where once would have said No", to make his life more interesting and positive. In this book he shows the tribulations and mischief that Danny got up to while he said yes, to any question or proposal, for numerous months. The book according to some can be seen as a self-help book as well as humour. A film version is currently in development, set to star Jack Black.

Wag, of the band Infadels, is a close friend of Wallace (having assisted him in promoting the Karma Army) and features heavily in Yes Man. It is unknown whether Wag will appear in the film version, or who will play him."

btw- I'm always looking for a good book to read, so will check this one out!

For some reason, memoirs by teachers seem to lend themselves particularly well to this approach. Some of these titles include Bel Kaufman's "Up the Down Staircase", E.R. Braithwaite's "To Sir With Love" and LouAnne Johnson's "Dangerous Minds." All three have been made into movies.
