Wood does NOT contribute to global warming. Wood is a biomass fuel, not a fossil fuel like oil, gas, or coal. When you burn wood, it releases the same amount of carbon dioxide as if it the tree had died and rotted in the forest. I mean come on, we have been burning wood for heat for many thousands of years, but global warming has showed up only since the use of fossil fuels.

Well, wouldn't it make sense? Even cow farts is a harmul gas to the environment. The smoke from your fireplace, depending on the kind of wood you use, would rise up to the air and well, I don't think It's filtered. Limo's cause about a 3rd of the harmful gases that are polluting our Earth.

Yes.
1. It produces carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
2. It produces soot. If that soot falls upon ice or snow, the ice or snow will become less reflective, and thus more energy from the sun will be retained here on earth.
3. That wood isn't part of a growing tree any more. Growing trees take in the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide.

I believe it does. But you know what, don't worry about that because so many people are also contributing to global warning that one person trying not to, will make no if any very little difference.

Yes, but I wouldn't worry about it to much. Forest fires and wildfires
contribute a lot more, a whole lot more.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.
Thank you very much, while you're up.
