Check out The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. At the end, it has an appendix of the roots in the names and a bunch of names you can bounce ideas off of. You can make up a good name from that. Good luck!

Agavion sounds more like a middle ages style of name. The thing with tolkiens writing was that it was all original. And it didnt sound like something that had ever been thought of before. My favorite is Acrador, but here are a few of my own for you to look at
Acuendor
Acador
Awendier
Aundor
Alendar

I like Agavion, because it sounds the least like "Aragorn" but it still sounds like a Gondor name. That would be the one I recommend to avoid possible confusion.

well, they dont sound gondorion, compared to beregond or boromir.
i have i website that can translate english to elvish, which is the language most names in the lotr are made in
Example: Elrond el=star rond=dome.
-dor means land, so i wouldn't suggest that for a character name
heres the website:

"Agrador", if a warrior-type ('agg-ression'/"Agra..").
"Acadion", if a woman. ("Arcadian" = pastoral, sweet, innocent, etc, but doesn't stop her being 'feisty'. The name. however, would always remind people she's a woman, even if she's lopping heads off Orcs!)
OOPS! Just re-read to see he's a guy. But you might want a strong woman character, who's still 'feminine', for your next one!

Hmmm, I think I like Agavion best...it doesn't sound as, (ummm, I don't know how to describe it, un-gondorian) as the others. (Acrador and Acradon sound like names for more mighty barbaric warriors, haha. Thanks in my opinion.
Personally for a Gondorian name, Alador, Asidor or Asierdor/Aseedor
; )
