I was talking to my mom yesterday telling her how big my son has gotten, when he was born with really bad acid reflux he was only 5lbs 9.2ozs. and now he's 9mos. and 19lbs as a joke I call him giant baby and so do some of my friends. Her comment was " never know what was in that medicine you gave it could've been steriods" blah, blah, blah, I told her I don't care if posion was in the medicine that's not something I want to hear, he needed the medicine and now he's out grown it so let's move on. So I started talking about my friend babysitting for New Years Eve and she said those are your kids if you decide to kill 'em that's your business too. Those comments are really starting to get to me, all my life those are the kind of stupid empty things she's said to me and you wonder why I'm Bipolar hummmmmm.....Any who can any of you relate I just need to hear for the Q&A forum...........lol

Just continue to feel very blessed and grateful that your son is doing fine; and growing properly. My eldest son was born 5lbs 4oz he is now 25 yrs. old. He was born with a projectile vomiting issue, he did not take medicine. The doctor said he would grow out of the situation and he did. Try not to discuss with your mom moments of importance. Or try not to pay any attention to her negative insults and comments. I would guess this is how she has always been and will most probably die this way. Just try your best to over look her. Change the subject or cut the conversation off when she begins. She is your mother and if for the most part she had tried her best, try your best to love and respect her. Just because she is your mother. Work around her. Learn from her example. Everything she did that you do not like, you know not to repeat. Just be the best mom you can be, follow your heart, if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't . Good luck and God bless****

God has graced u in the fact that ur son has gotten over something as tragic as that. u need to tell ur mom straight to her face that u dont apperciate those rude comments and he is ur son and not hers and nething that u decide to give him is something that is ur descion. more than likely their might have been some sort of steriod in the medicine but that doesnt mean u were wrong in giving it to him!!!! inhalers have steriod and do u think ppl should die beacuse their medicince has steriods, I DONT HTINK SO. ur lucky that ur son is doing well and that is all that should matter to u. and let me congratulate u on having a son!!!!!! CONGRATULATOIN

You are very lucky your son is better. If the comments bother you that much, tell you mother to stop. If she doesn't then you will have to decide whether to put up with it or just stop seeing her until she realizes you are serious.

My mother says the same empty comments to me also. We argue alot but I still love her. I have to catch myself and make sure that I don't do the same to my children.
