I don't think cigarettes are addicting. I think it's all in your head. I used to smoke 10 years ago and I just stopped cold turkey and never looked back. I realized how bad they were for my health and worse for the health of those around me and that was enough motivation for me to stop. It's good that you're trying hard to quit though. I know it's harder for some than others. Since nothing else worked I think you should try it. Even if it doesn't work at least you can say you tried. Good luck!

Not hypnosis but hypnotherapy - I attended a seminar with Allen Carrs Easy Way to Stop Smoking. The workshops have a 90% success rate and a money back guarantee. You do not go into a trance and do not 'go under'
I smoked 40 a day for 7 years and walked into that place convinced nobody could help me quit. When I walked out, I never smoked another cigarette again, it was like someone had just flicked a switch in my head.
I did not experience any side effects, cravings, withdrawals or weight gain. We were all born non-smokers, and your body does remember that.
I cant recommend this method strongly enough.

Nope - but I just gave up smoking 11 days ago without reading any books, watching any videos, chewing any gum etc. etc.
It has been far easier than I expected. I fancy a cigarette now - but it's not hurting or anything and pretty easy to resist.
I think the whole drama about giving up smoking is a ploy by companies to make lots of money from their quitting products!
I feel so much better and healthier already, I smell better and also I have peace of mind because I'm not constantly thinking what a weak willed person I am - now I feel like a strong person & I like it. Give up - you can do it - it'll be easier than you think & before too long you won't even miss it!

Hi Yes, I quit a few years ago by going cold turkey. It helps if you can change your routines a bit. Take up walking, jogging, cycling or something as it gives you a great distraction and a level of fitness to aim for that you would not achieve if you carried on smoking. The mental withdrawal seems ease off after 3 or 4 days, so if you can get past the first few days, you'll be on the home straight. Stupidly, having gone through a nasty period in life I took up smoking again. It is a habbit that never leaves you so you have to fight to stay off the cigarettes. Good luck, Paul.

Yes. I had one 1 1/2 hour session followed by two 1 hour sessions over a four week period. I haven't had a cigarette now since Dec 19th 2005. It's really awesome because not only does the hypnotherapist train your subconscious mind to think like a non-smoker, he/she also tackles the reason you started smoking in the first place. It's weird being in a trance because you are still aware of everything around you. It's more like being in a daydream with your eyes closed than being asleep. It's not a miracle cure though, you need to use it in conjunction with your own will power. Good luck, it worked for me!

Yes....I walked out of his office, threw away my cigarettes, and didn't want another one for seven months....which I did have just one, then another, then another...so the lesson is: it did work for me, but maybe there should be six month follow-ups for two or three years...also you can never have just one.......
