If my father's sperm had fertilized a different woman's egg instead of my mother's would I still have been born, but looking different due to having the genetics of a different mother, and if a different man had fertilized my mother's egg instead of my current father, would I still be "me" but just looking different because I would have the genes of a different father? So then, if my parents had not had sex together, but instead they had paired off with 2 entirely different people to creat children with, would I then actually be 2 different people instead of the one that I am??

Like you said, If, I often ask myself this question. what if my mother had a abortion or if my father pulled out or used a condom. would we be here. God already have everybody life mapped out so it was in the making to be here thank god for that.

Every person has a spirit which is in heaven before they gain their body. So no matter what your parents chose you were still destined to be born. Yes your genetics are determined by what genes the sperm and egg donate. No, there wouldn't be two of you if your parents had had different partners, because you only have one spirit.

Well, let's see......

The chromosomes imparted to you by your "current" parents determines more than just physical attributes (eye color, hair color, etc.). There are also genetic markers within them that also determine more subtle items, like temperament, physical health, etc.

In other words, different chromosomes will impart different personality traits. Therefore, NO, you would not be the same person you are now.

As for the 2 person part of your question, my suggestion is just be happy with the life you have, and don't worry about it. Unless you think you have a split personality, which I would then suggest psychiatric assistance.

No, you'd be another completely unique being. A zygote is the result of a sperm fertilizing an egg, and the zygote is always a completely unique entity based on both parent's chromosomal information.

It depends on your beliefs. If you believe people have a soul than you'd be the same person with different looks.

if you think about it, you have your mom and dad's blood inside so that makes you the person you are today. so if they had paired with somebody else you would not exsist cause they would of made a total different person.
