My doctors gave me Yasmine, and I have been taking it for a month now. Its made me go crazy. Not only am I depressed or have a history of it, but Yasmine has an extra high sensitivity for Depression as well. I am going to stay off of it all together. What else could I use? I have Endometriosis and its supposed to stop my ovulation. Would Ortho Trycyclin be better?

Whats ironic is that i have tried yasmin as well, it made me want to cry and be extra emotional with everything. i immediately tried a different birth control. try one with less estrogen, it is what my gynocologist perscriped with me, it will help with these tendicies you are having. i am sure if you also explain your condition to your gyno that she will find another birth control solution all together. there is no guarantee that ortho trycylclin will be better for you because each birth contol reacts differently with each individual's chemistry. Because for some people yasmin does not even have these effects. its like trial and error with birth control, you have to keep trying for that perfect match. i hope i helped.

Just hearing Ortho makes me thing getting pregnant. I was on that for 4 months taking it properly and I got pregnant and it did not clear my face. I also had a friend who was taking Ortho and she got pregnant after six months of taking it properly.

The Depo shot made me gain more weight than when I was pregnant. Sure its great for having no periods even if oyu must get a shot every 3 months but the weight is a turn off.

I also have Endometriosis and my doctor fit me with the Mureena (sp?) IUD. It fits well and I did not gain wieght nor get pregnant. I am on my second one and I have no problems with it. They are good for five years.

In my experience, I had to change several times until I found one that didnt make me sick or really "weird"....I've taken Yasmine and it wasnt very good for me neither was Ortho Trycycline.......Loestrin was very good for me. I've heard that Nuva Ring is very good. But I believe that it really depends on your body......Try different ones until you find the one that works for you.

Note: I as well have to take birth control for medical reason not pregnancy reasons. Have patience.....Dont get frustrated.....Theres plenty out there...Talk to your doctor and as him/her for the best options for you.

I was on the Patch for many years but due to recent FDA warnings I was forced to change. Do not use this.....It is still sold but has far greater risks than all others. Its better to be safe than sorry.

You should tell your doctor this. He or she can prescribe you with another type of birth control.

Every women are made differently so that's why there are other birth control pills out there today.

Tell your doctor about the side effects you are getting, there are different brands/doses out there that don't have the same side effects.
