That's quite a hefty fine from the NFL. Some of the other players from the past were fined about half of that. See below for further details

I was surprised it was $35,000. I was thinking it would be $10K to $15K....When Romo did it to JJ Stokes he was fined 7500 and Romo was a sicko who lived to hurt other players.

Spitting is considered the worst thing a player can do to another player as stated by the players themselves. Obviously, the past penalties have not stopped the practice. So, $35,000 is a good fine. Hopefully, they will not have to go higher in the future in that at some point a player will keep it in his mouth.
Personally, I would like to see the rule changed to a one-game suspension either that or the player spat upon gets to post one in the chops to the perpetrator. That might slow things down.

No, thats rediculous. Spitting is rude, uncalled for, and digusting. But I think that $35,000 is a little on the extreme side. Although when making the amount of money that these guys do, the fines have to be pretty large for them to learn anything. Fining them $1,000 or something won't affect the player in the lease and they wont regret it at all. The $35,000 fine will make them think about what they did... for a couple of minutes at least!

Based on his past behavior, it is justified. He is going to be on a short leash because of his past problems. It's like the difference between your first speeding ticket and your 10th. You will probably get in more trouble for your 10th.

T.O. should be suspended for at least 3 games with no pay. Even this wouldn't teach him a lesson. T.O. does what he wants whenever he feels like it and hes just giving football a bad rap

He should be banned for 5 games!! $35000 is nothing for him. He've been really peice of sh!t for long time.

He is not doing any good in this season anyway, he had problems with Eagles, and he is nothing without Eagles.

I would kick him out for next season!!

I think he should be fined. 35,000 is a lot of money for spitting though. I think the fine should be less than 35,000.
