I am a huge sports fan. I followed my three favorite sports league religiously. The NFL, the NBA and the MLB. What i found out is that people look at NBA as a thug league but give a pass to the NFL. The Bengals have 7 players arrested for doing illegal things and nobody really cares but the NBA have 1 brawl this year, people saying "yea, that's a thug league for ya". WHy is that? I mean most NFL players do illegal things but only get a hand slap or whatever but when an NBA player do illegal things, it's on the news. I am not saying that there are no thugs in the NBA. All im sayin is that just because there's a fight in the NBA, people view the whole league as a thug league. Is it a racial thing? Is it because the NBA leaned toward hip hop culture more? The NBA did more things than the NFL in terms of helping people in need with NBA Care program. THe NFL doesnt really have such a program but people still view the nba as a thug league and let the nfl pass. Why is that?

A football player spit on a person and only get a fine. If an NBA player spit on a person, he will get suspended. That is just not fair.

OF COURSE IT RACIAL!!!.
Because the same white fans and media who will criticize an NBA player for fighting and call him a thug, wont dint the same to the NFL. no league has had more off the field issues than the NFL, and no league gets more of a free pass!! Middle America will blindly call all NBA players thugs and when something like a brawl or ugly incident happens they make it about the entire league, when its the NFL its never the league just that one player or team. and then they (whites) make lame excuses for the reason why there is a double standard, like football is violent sports, we understand why they do crazy things. Ray Lewis got involved with a double murder down here in Atlanta, and became more popular after that incident than he was before. Carmelo on the other hand will never live that fight down. Whites have tried for years now to somehow separate the blacks from the NBA and the NFL, pretend as if their different. the NFL has the good blacks and the NBA is full of the bad blacks. Thats always their justification for their double standard.

Sometimes the marbles in Rush's head roll around a bit and this is one of those times. I agree the NFL gets a free pass for some reason when it comes to bad behavior. The problem with the NBA is perception which was brought about by the players themselves. They opted for the gangsta image some time back and it has stuck with them. My rating would be NFL (the Bengals alone lead the list), NBA, MLB and NHL. I listed NHL last because you don't hear a lot of players running afoul of the law and as far as fighting, it's part of the sport. They have sold that aspect since day one.

I am agree. NFL has policy of fine, as they have like 15 games and they just cant let a player sit out for 12 games. NBA has 85 something games and if they suspend somebody for 12, it wont be a big deal.

Most of the times they dont care, what players do outside the playground, sometimes even inside the playfield.

I dont know, its just different league, they are strickt on drugs [william -miami] they do ban for the season sometimes.

Yeh again its not like NBA or even close.

I think it's because people already know that football is a violent contact sport. You got a bunch of guys hitting eachother on every play. So they tollerate violent thug behavor of NFL players a little more.

I guess they're run by different people and have different rules and regulations regarding players' conduct. There not one in the same.
