i am 40 weeks pregnant and my face has been swollen for about 4 days now.....the swelling is only effecting one side of my face...its not that noticable to everyone else but i can feel it cause im only talking out one side of my mouth and i am only able to give half a smile...it doesnt look as bad as it is uncomfortable...i have been to the doctor and she says its not edema or preclempsia...she thinks it will be this way untill i give birth but i really cant deal with not being able to smile....please tell me if you have any suggestions on what i can do to make the swelling go down...and assure me that this does happen to other people and i will be ok!!!

Eep, that sounds like a side effect of water retention. It'll probably go down once you give birth. Which appears soon, if you're 40 weeks!

your 40 weeks and they aren't inducing you? Swelling is normal, you usually hear about it affecting the ankles, but then entire body is suseptable to swelling.

Good luck
