I love power failures at night. I wouldn't be able to use the computer, so I wouldn't be able to finish answering this question or finish the homework that must be typed.
What I would do: light candles-they are so pretty and except for during black outs I am not allowed to light them because i might "burn down the house"
Play my (lever) harp, because it sounds so beautiful in darkness.
according to these first two things, power outages promote a sense of peace for me.
i would also finish other homework, and maybe eat, play cards in candle light, and watch a DVD like Lord of the Rings on a small DVD player. Black outs bring my family together too.

I'd leave work and feel thankful for the "off-grid" time. I'd pretend that in addition to losing power, I also mysteriously lost cell phone service. I'd skip out on the meeting I have to go to tonight, and just hang out in my apartment with my cat and light some candles to see by.

Well, i live in buffalo ny, and we actually lost our power for 2 days straight back in november. I did alot of arts and crafts and tried to eat all the perishable foods. There was also alot of sleeping done during those 2 days.

Nothing. Since I'm at work and everything is run on electricity (the radio, the computers, the furnace).

I would go to sleep seeing how it would be too dark to do much else. That and I would be really cold, since the heat here is electric.

I would pull out the charcoal, fire up the grill, grab the coffee pot, get out the cookin pot, light the lantern and have some fun. When that is done I'll go to bed.
